Green onion seeds have a high germination rate, sow in loose soil, keep moist enough, and suitable temperature. Proper care will increase the germination rate.
Each purple corn plant can produce 5 to 10 ears, but it is best to leave 3 to 5 ears per plant to allow the ears to grow larger and have the highest nutritional value. To ensure the highest level of nutrients, harvesting the corn while the ears are still young is ideal, as this retains the sweetness and nutritional content at its peak.
- Harvesting tips
Sow the green onion seeds in a bed or pot about 0.5 cm deep. The seeds should be 5-7 cm apart. Cover with a thin layer of soil and water lightly to keep the soil moist.
Prepare loose, nutritious, well-drained soil. You can mix the soil with organic fertilizer or vermicompost to increase nutrition.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
Place in a well-lit area and keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging. After about 7-14 days, the seeds will germinate. Continue to water regularly and after about 30-45 days, the green onions can be harvested.
